My latest book review covers The City Beautiful by Aden Polydoros—a queer Jewish historical fantasy novel on possession, life, and death.

Welcome to my stop of The Ivies book tour! It is m my first book tour ever, and I am honored to review The Ivies by Alexa Donne.

In my latest book review, I tackle Dahlia Adler’s newest novel, Cool for the Summer—a Jewish LGBTQ+ narrative about growing into yourself.

After spending a couple of weeks recovering from this beast of a book, I am finally ready to review it. I shed lots of tears while reading Chain of Iron and while writing this book review. But I’m excited to delve back into the Shadowhunter world, especially The Last Hours. If you are interested, you can find my book review for Chain of Gold here. Let’s get started since I am ready to cry over Chain of Iron all over again.

The Gilded Ones is pure magic. Namina Forna created a feminist-driven fantasy novel, complete with a captivating world, strong characters, and heartwarming dynamics.

I discovered A Dark and Hollow Star by Ashley Shuttleworth through a Twitter thread dedicated to sapphic 2021 releases. Or it might have been while flipping through catalogues on Edelweiss. I honestly cannot remember, but the important thing is it’s the best thing to happen to me this year so far. This book was everything I had been looking for, for years: a compelling fantasy with a sapphic romance at its center. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I got my pre-order early, so I’m extra grateful that I can publish this review on RELEASE DAY! So, without further ado, let’s do this book review. ♡

I loved diving back into the Carter family, even though it was 18(ish) years prior, and during a different time. I was always intrigued by Maverick, and I was so glad to read about one of the most crucial points of his life. He has gone through a lot of hardships throughout his life, a lot of them occurring in this book. But his character was written beautifully—he was so real that you could feel every emotion. Even if you did not endure what Maverick did (which I didn’t), you still cried when he cried, laughed when he laughed, and got angry when he got angry. It was during these moments that reminded me how skilled Angie Thomas is at crafting characters.

Whew, I cannot believe I am posting two reviews in the same month! It is quite a relief, to be honest, mainly because I am not the most active blogger. But I hope to change that in the new year! My next review will probably be in a few weeks, but definitely before 2021. As … Continue Reading

We are back with a new book review! I meant to post this in October, but grad school has been kicking my butt. Anyway, I hope it was worth the wait! The next review is coming super soon, hopefully in 1-2 weeks. ♥︎ (As always, if you are only interested in my overall thoughts, scroll … Continue Reading

I realize it’s been literal months, just about six, to be exact. I could go into a whole spiel explaining why, but I’d rather not. I know these are trying times, but I’m going to try and have one book review out per month, so here’s hoping this works! This review is for September. I … Continue Reading
